The Scope & Requirements

• Reliable Internet Backbone: Fixed an unreliable residential connection by relocating the main internet connection and hardware out of the master bedroom and into a clean, centralised garage equipment rack, with high-speed double Cat6A outlets run to every room in the house.
• Extended Wi-Fi Coverage: Engineered a high-performance wireless layout with dedicated upstairs and downstairs access points, guaranteeing seamless roaming across every internal room, the backyard, and the outdoor pool area.
• Perimeter Security Network: Deployed four exterior smart security cameras for full surveillance coverage across all primary property boundaries — front, side, back, and porch.
• Granny Flat Fibre Link: Bridged a high-bandwidth, dedicated 30m fibre link out to the detached rear granny flat, bringing it onto the same network as the main house.

Concealed Structured Cabling

• Fully Hidden Wiring: Threaded all network wiring inside the double-brick wall cavities to connect 12 data points, 4 security cameras, and 2 Wi-Fi access points — all built to ACMA structured cabling standards, with zero raw cords left exposed.

The Connection & Results

• Central Hardware Hub: Wired and configured the entire property from a rack-mounted enterprise gateway, acting as the primary network firewall and management console, paired with a PoE switch delivering power over ethernet to remote terminals.
• Perimeter Surveillance: Powered the security grid with HD cameras, linked to the granny flat via the 30m outdoor-rated fibre run, unifying both structures into one network.
• System Calibration: Completed full line testing, mapped Wi-Fi channels to eliminate interference, and configured the security app on the owners' phones and desktop computers.
